In order to maintain our status as a "non-profit charitable organization," the Internal Revenue Service requires us to engage in a variety of fund raising activities apart from just the infusion of donations.  Recognized by the State of California's Department of Justice as well as the Office of the Attorney General as a "non profit organization," holding raffles is just one of the ways to satisfy those requirements.  Thus, through the generosity of a group of various individuals, we are able to offer prizes like this as a means of saying Thank You for your support and your commitment to our work.  However, if you have any ideas on how we might raise additional funding, or you have an item or product that you would like to "contribute" that could be included in future raffles, please do not hesitate to contact us.  Please note that 75% of all funds raised from this effort will be used to underwrite the establishing and buidling of The Heart Song Institute and Medical Center for Children dedicated to Robin M. Williams and sponsored by C.H.A.R.M.E.D., Incorporated.  The remaining funds will be placed in the general fund to be used for other projects we are also involved.  You may read more about those in the DONATIONS section of this website.

Due to popular demand, we have done away with prizes such as a vacation at some resort.  Instead we have opted to simply award "cash prizes."  That way if you want to take a vacation, you can; or maybe you would prefer to use the money to get some much needed work completed on your home; or maybe some long overdue repairs to the car.  Whatever the reason, we'll be helping you when you stepped up to the plate to help us.

The First Prize Winner will be awarded $5,000US.  The Second Prize Winner will be awarded $2,500US.  The Third Prize Winner will receive $1,000US.  All prizes will be awarded in the form of a Cashier's Check made out to the name of the individual on the raffle ticket.  Therefore, when reserving your ticket here, it is imparative that you spell your full name correctly, and be sure to include a valid mailing and email address.  The drawing for the 1st, 2nd and 3rd Prizes will take place on Saturday, December 3, 2016.  For further rules and information, please visit CONTEST RULES.

Will I be added to a mailing list and/or marketed to?
Absolutely Not. 
If you would like to receive such communications, there is an option that allows you to join our site and to receive emails and marketing materials;  otherwise, you will not.  However, we do not provide our mailing lists to anyone else.  For those looking to become more involved, We do need a considerable number of able bodied people to help with a variety of aspects in relation to the founding, building and eventual maintenance of The Heart Song Institute and Medical Center for Children.  Therefore, If you would like to become a part of our team, and possibly serve on the Board of Directors, or in a variety of other positions that will eventually be made available, certainly join our mailing list.  Please note, the Center is being established in Marin County, California.  So if you are living elsewhere and became a part of our team, it would require relocation.  Currently, we are not in a position to underwrite the costs of relocation for anyone at this time. 

Do you accept applications by email or sell tickets on the internet?
Tickets cannot be purchased on the raffle website or by email.  However, reservations for a raffle ticket may be made on the raffle website by the purchaser.  The staff at C.H.A.R.M.E.D., Incorporated will then mail you your raffle ticket(s).  Thus it is extremely important that you spell out your name, and include an up-to-date mailing address, along with a telephone number and email address.

How long will it take to receive my ticket in the mail?
At least one (1) to two (2) weeks.  All tickets reserved before an entry deadline are included in a drawing even if the customer's portion of the ticket arrives after the drawing date.

How long will it take to receive my reciept by email?
Receipts are usually delivered within five (5) minutes after an order has been placed and sent to the email address provided at the time of the purchase.  If you did not receive an email receipt, please check your SPAM folder.  If after twenty-four (24) hours you still have not received a receipt for your order, please contact us at admin@charmedincca.com and we will respond within the next twenty-four (24) to forty-eight (48) hours.  Remember, you are dealing with technology and if it worked according to its intended purpose, it wouldn't be called technology.

Is the Heart Song Treasure Hunt Raffle legal?
Yes.  In the summer of 2001, the California Legislature amended the [California] State constitution to allow eligible non-profit organizations to conduct raffles as  a means of raising funds.  C.H.A.R.M.E.D., Incorporated is one of the non-profit organizations who is eigibile.  For additional information, you can research it further at California Penal Code Section 319.

How much does a raffle ticket cost?
Tickets are $2.00 each plus a fifty cent ($.50) mailing fee.  So $2.50.

How many raffle tickets can I buy?
As many as you would like and can afford.

How many raffles tickets will be sold?
It all depends on the demand.  We would love to sell 20 million raffle tickets because we could surely begin designing and building of The Heart Song Institute and Medical Center for Children considerably earlier than we had anticipated.  Though, it all depends on how many people want to participate and help.

What are the odds of winning?
The odds of winning one of the prizes depends entirely on the number of tickets sold.  If 2 million raffle tickets are sold, and you purchased one raffle ticket, your chances of winning one of the prizes would be 1:2,000,000 (one in two million).

When does the raffle start and when does it end?
It begins on March 1, 2016 and ends on December 1, 2016.

Do I have to be present to win?
No.

How will the winners be notified?
Winners will be notified by email, telephone and by U.S. Mail (registered/return receipt).  It all depends on the contact information provided at the time of the individual having resereved their raffle ticket on our site.  The winning names will also be posted on this website shortly after the drawing.

Who can buy a raffle ticket?
Any person eighteen (18) years of age or older may purchase a raffle ticket.  However, employees and members of the Board of Directors of C.H.A.R.M.E.D., Incorporated, their spouses and their children living in the same household are not eligible to win.  Furthermore, agents of C.H.A.R.M.E.D., Incorporated their consultants, their attorney, the independant accounting firm, their spouses abd their children are also not eligible to win.  All federal, state and local laws and regulations apply.  The raffle is void where prohibited or restricted by law.

Are raffle tickets tax-deductible?
No.  The Internal Revenue Service ("IRS") does not allow raffles tickets to be a tax-deductible contribution.

Are raffle prizes considered income?
Yes.  In addition, C.H.A.R.M.E.D., Incorporated may withhold required federal taxes from any prizes in accordance with federal law.  C.H.A.R.M.E.D., Incorporated will then remit the balance of the prizes to the winners in the form of a Cashier's Check.  All prize winners will be required to submt an IRS FORM 5754 and a W-2G in order to be awarded the prize.
